in the novel Animal Farm by George Orwell, there is a character Napoleon that is disliked. Napoleon is a lier, cheat and murder. he has betrayed nearly every character in the novel and has no intentions of helping them in any way that doesn’t help him. there are three things that Napoleon does or feels that makes him an inadequate person. he is vain and doesn’t care for anyone else, is controlling and wants all the power and deceiving his way to the top.
Napoleon did not deserve to have control over the farm and the only got the power because of two reasons. The first reason was that he was a pig. anyone of the animal could have been a leader of the farm. But because Napoleon was a pig he was considered pigs were the most intelligent animal he was put into power after he drove snowball out the farm the other reason Napoleon was so successful in gaining all the power was because of his minister of propaganda Squealer. Who convinced the other animals think that Napoleon was a good person and that he is doing the right thing. Even if that meant not having enough food or working more hours. Squealer even convinced Jessie that her puppies are safe with Napoleon. Napoleon, think that he gained something that he didn’t deserve and didn’t give back to anyone but himself. He is like someone that has gained power because of there parents or marrying someone in high power.
Napoleon is a selfish person and doesn’t care about anyone but himself. He has lied, killed and cheated his way to the top with no care for others. he betrayed nearly everyone on the farm and would never help out around the farm. napoleon had betrayed the farm by killing others just so he can get to the top and have all the power over everyone if they liked it or not. No matter whos in the way of Napoleon he would not show any mercy evens if it is his most loyal worker boxer. He sent boxer off to the glue factory instead of getting the help he needed. He deceives others like when he changes the 7 commandments so he could sleep in the bed and drink alcohol overall Napoleon makes me like I couldn’t trust some people even if they say that they are doing it for the best and its a good thing not bad thing. Napoleon is very much like Joseph Stalin in the novel who said that he believed socialism when really he was a dictator who was very brutal with his people.
Napoleon is also very controlling and doesn’t like being told what to do and has no room for anyone’s ideas or takes credit for other peoples ideas or work like snow when he had the idea to make a windmill napoleon was against it because it would mean more work and when snowball told the other animals wanted to do it but when snowball was forced out of the farm by Napoleon he claimed the idea to be his which everyone seems to like him more because of that and made them believe snowball betrayed them. Or when he didn’t like when Mrs Fredrick was telling what to do. Overall Napoleon makes me feel like he wants to take control of everything around him.
Napoleon is a character that makes me unhappy and not trusting at times and reminds me that there are bad people in the world that have no empathy towards over no matter how nice they are. and that is why in the novel animal farm Napoleon was my least favourite.”No question now what has happened to the faces of the pigs. The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again: but already it was impossible to say which was which.”

Be careful to avoid just retelling the events of the novel. At the moment you are only describing Napoleon and the things he has done. You need to be talking about how you emotionally responded to him and how that response helped you understand the novel. Remember to keep coming back to the question so you can be sure that you are answering what you’ve been asked.
Hi Kiara,
You need to have a quote in each of your paragraphs that are connected to the point you are making. Remember to discuss the author’s purpose and to make connections to the world outside the novel as well. Connect your points to your understanding of the themes in the novel.
